New Board Appointments for Australian Women in Wine
Australian Women in Wine (AWIW), the nation’s leading advocate for gender equality and visibility of women across the wine community, today announces the appointment of a new Board of Directors. This marks an important next chapter for the organisation following its recent transition to an independent, not-for-profit entity.
After an extensive recruitment process and an exceptional pool of high-calibre applicants, seven new directors have been selected to steward AWIW into its next phase:
- Rachel Triggs – Interim Chair
- Ali Lockwood
- Corrina Wright
- Shirley Fraser
- Jill Bauer
- Dianne Thompson
- Natalie Benson
Together, the new board brings deep expertise spanning winemaking, viticulture, marketing, governance, education, and industry leadership. Their combined experience positions AWIW to expand its impact nationally and internationally.
The appointment of the new board follows the formal separation of Australian Women in Wine from The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society, the organisation that founded and incubated AWIW for the past decade. This structural shift ensures AWIW can continue its mission with greater focus, independence, and long-term sustainability.

The new board will oversee AWIW’s strategic direction, programs, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives, ensuring the organisation remains a strong and influential voice for women working in wine.
AWIW will announce its strategic priorities for the coming year in early 2026.
