As the Australian wine sector navigates changing markets, workforce challenges and evolving expectations, one thing remains clear: the future of our industry depends on our ability to evolve, adapt, collaborate and challenge ourselves to think differently.
Women and allies from across Australia’s grape and wine community are invited to attend the Australian Women in Wine Symposium 2026, taking place in Melbourne on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
Held under the theme “Rising Together – Shaping What Comes Next”, the Symposium will bring together industry leaders, emerging professionals, business owners, growers, winemakers, researchers, government representatives and advocates for a day of practical insights, meaningful conversations and collective action.
Guided by the pillars of Evolve, Adapt, Collaborate and Challenge, the Symposium will explore how individuals and organisations can build stronger leadership pathways, create more inclusive workplaces, embrace changing workforce realities and drive lasting industry impact.
The event comes at a pivotal time for the Australian wine sector. While significant progress has been made in advancing gender equality, there remains an opportunity to move beyond awareness and towards meaningful implementation that benefits businesses, employees and the long-term sustainability of the industry.
Attendees can expect thought-provoking keynote presentations, engaging panel discussions and practical takeaways covering topics including leadership, professional development, mentoring, workplace culture, health and wellbeing, flexible work, allyship, ESG, and the future of work.

The event is designed not only to celebrate the achievements of women in wine, but also to strengthen networks, encourage collaboration and support the next generation of women across the Australian grape and wine sector.
An informal networking dinner will be held on Monday 14 September, providing attendees with an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, build new relationships and continue the conversation ahead of the Symposium.
Australian Women in Wine exists to champion women across the Australian wine community and advocate for greater gender equality throughout the sector. Through education, mentoring, professional development, advocacy and celebration, the organisation creates opportunities for women to connect, grow and lead.
Established in 2015 by trailblazer and founder of the Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society, Jane Thomson OAM, the Symposium has evolved into Australia’s leading national event dedicated to supporting women in wine and driving positive change across the industry.
