Elizabeth Calabria-Staltare, Calabria Family Wines

Named after her grandmother, Bill & Lena’s youngest daughter, Elizabeth, always wanted to immerse herself in the work of marketing and design. Elizabeth quickly acquired a passion for the wine industry after seeing the fulfillment it brought to her parents. From completing school at Loreto College in Sydney, she went on to graduate as a Graphic Designer, followed by a Diploma in Marketing.

Like her siblings, Elizabeth worked in the family business while growing up and during college, from being on the bottling line, to labelling up export orders and wine tastings in the cellar door, with the intentions of further developing her product knowledge and, of course, getting to know Calabria customers. This allowed Elizabeth to broaden her skills in the company and see her take on the current role as Marketing and Brand Manager at Calabria Family Wines.
During her downtime, Elizabeth enjoys escaping to Northern Queensland with her husband, Chaise and their two children; Vincent & Julian…. with a glass of Prosecco in hand!

“It’s such an exciting time within the company as my siblings and I fully immerse ourselves, bringing fresh perspective and enthusiasm. This journey signifies our deep respect for what our grandparents and parents, Bill & Lena, have achieved to date. It also sets the direction for our aspirations for the future generation.” Elizabeth Calabria-Staltare.

Imogen Hayes, Handpicked Wines

Imogen Hayes is Global Marketing Manager at Handpicked Wines – an Australian fine wine producer with vineyards owned and managed across 4 regions under the tutelage of winemaker Pete Dillon. Imogen has been with Handpicked for more than 6 years and within her role has managed the marketing strategy and execution for Handpicked domestically and within Asia and USA.

The theme for the upcoming Aussie Wine Month in the USA is “Far from Ordinary”, which sums up Handpicked Wines and Imogen Hayes too. Making wines in different regions around Australia and the world, Handpicked doesn’t fit the standard story for an Australian winery. Imogen has focused the business on celebrating the difference and making it a strength. From wine weddings to roller discos, creative partnerships and more conventional events in far-flung corners of the planet, Imogen is always thinking of new ways to connect consumers with the world of wine.

Imogen is a major supporter of diversity and has helped grow the Handpicked team into a productive and loyal group of diverse, creative and unique people. Imogen studied mandarin while growing up in Brisbane has been a long-time student of the language. Imogen has a keen interest in connecting wine consumers in China with Australian wine, previously living with Hong Kong and Taiwan and travelling frequently to the region. She is currently a board member of Wine Communicators of Australia NSW. Imogen was also a finalist in this same award category in 2017.

Rebecca Love, Burch Family Wines

Rebecca Love is Marketing Manager for Burch Family Wines after joining them in 2017. Managing brand identity, social media, events, marketing strategy and PR. Originally from the UK, her background has been varied, throwing herself at new challenges and industries – from tourism, to luxury products, to consulting and real estate she has always found ways to succeed.

Getting the job at Howard Park was as if the planet’s aligned. After moving to Perth after a long stint in Broome Rebecca knew that she wanted to return to an industry that encouraged creativity, behaved sustainably and aligned with her roots of tourism and a family history of farming. Wine was an ideal fit. Always looking for new ways to approach a marketing strategy Rebecca has transformed the company’s social media strategy, presented innovative events and looked for new ways to collaborate and forge new partnerships.

Outside of work Rebecca is usually the first on and the last to leave the dance floor, spends most of her weekend in Bunnings or pinning design inspiration as her and husband renovate their home. She’s happiest among her indoor jungle with a glass of wine or cup of tea reading a good book.
