‘Hear Me Roar’ was the world’s first wine produced by women to raise funds for women in wine. It sold out in under five weeks. And now, we’re ready to start allocating the funds to support the careers of women in the Australian wine industry. Applications for funding are now open.

We get it. It can be tough out there for a woman in wine trying to establish and grow her career in the Australian wine sector. We know because over the last few years you’ve openly shared your experiences with us. We’ve heard and collected your stories. In fact, many of us working on the AWIWA Board have experienced it ourselves. And that’s just the anecdotal evidence. Research fully supports this too. (FYI, we have a whole ‘Resources’ section on this very website if you want to read the science.)
So what can we do about it? Well, the Australian Women in Wine Awards team has worked damn hard in the last five years to establish the awards program – and now we’re thrilled to be able to do more. Thanks to the success of Hear Me Roar, we are now allocating the money raised to support things you may need to help you flourish. Got a conference you want to go to? A training program you’ve always wanted to complete? A particular research project that you’ve been dying to do? Perhaps you feel you’d benefit from a leadership retreat or an exchange. Everything is on the table if it means helping you in your career. You just need to demonstrate to us in the application form below how it will benefit you and – here’s the really important part – how you’ll be able to ‘pay it forward’ in some way by making a positive contribution back to the Australian wine community in the future.

Is mentoring what you're looking for?
We’ve partnered with the highly regarded Inspiring Rare Birds to provide up to 10 mentoring places for women in the Australian wine industry. These mentorships are for those who want to advance their personal and business development by way of one-on-one mentoring. Each is a 12-month program which provides you with 2 hours per month with your mentor. You also have access to an online platform where you can set goals, track your progress and milestones, and get access to content and missions from the exclusive mentoring platform library. If you’d like to apply for one of these mentorship programs, simply tick the relevant box on the application form below as well as completing the rest of the application. Each mentorship program on offer is worth $1699.00.
