Champion of Diversity & Equality

This award, open to both businesses and individuals (male and female), recognises those who have provided outstanding support and advocacy for women in the Australian wine industry.

While entrants can be individuals working within or owning a wine business, this award is also open for entry for wine brands and wine businesses, wine community groups or wine industry governing bodies.

‘Wine business’ is a business involved in wine production, viticulture or a wine-related business (eg. barrel importer, wine distributor, wine journalist, etc).

 

What you need to know about this award:

Entrants must meet the following criteria

Wine Businesses:

Describe the directives or strategies that the business has implemented over the previous 12 – 24 months to advance gender equality and diversity and demonstrate how these measures have been effective in driving real change.

This may be in any area of the business, but information should be given to key issues related to gender equality and diversity in business including (but not limited to):

* Workforce composition

* Gender balance in management and ownership of business

* Women and negotiation skills

* Managing flexible work arrangements

* Managing parental leave

* Pay equity

* Working towards ‘best practice’ on gender equality and diversity

* Support material should be included.

 

Individuals:

Describe the directives or strategies you have personally undertaken / pushed over the previous 12 – 24 months to advance gender equality and diversity in the business or brand you work in and demonstrate how these measures have been effective in driving real change.

This may be in any area, but information should be given to key issues related to gender equality and diversity in business including (but not limited to):

* Workforce composition

* Gender balance in management and ownership of business

* Women and negotiation skills

* Managing flexible work arrangements

* Managing parental leave

* Pay equity

* Working towards ‘best practice’ on gender equality and diversity

* Support material should be included.

The deliberations of the judging panel remain confidential. All recommendations and decisions taken are binding and final and no correspondence will be entered into on such matters. The judges reserve the right not to award the prize if, in their view, the quality of entries is insufficiently meritorious.

The use of referees is part of the judging process and we encourage entrants to inform their referees that they will be contacted to support the entrant’s statements.

The winner will receive:

  • An engraved Riedel Cornetto Decanter
  • Promotion via both the Women in Wine Awards Website and The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society
  • A specially designed and framed award certificate plus an exclusively designed winners graphic ‘badge’ to be used in your own marketing and communications.

To be eligible to enter the Workplace Champion of Change Award a business or individual (male or female) must meet the following criteria:

  • Be living in Australia and is either an Australian citizen or an Australian resident OR is a business or entity registered and operating in Australia
  • Must not be employed by The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society, any member of the Advisory Board, or any company / brand sponsoring the Individual Award for which is s/he is applying
  • Agree to the Terms & Conditions of entry
